Get the binoculars out and get outside as tonight is the last chance to see the amazing annual Perseid meteor shower.
If the cloud stays away, stargazers across Donegal can catch a glimpse of a shooting star.
The natural display happens around the same time every year and there is still an opportunity to see them until 16 August.
The meteor shower has been happening for the past couple of days.
However, physics lecturer at TU Dublin Kevin Nolan said tonight is the last of the “great nights” to see the phenomenon.
Speaking to RTÉ’s Morning Ireland, he said anyone who wants to see the meteor shower should go to dark locations from 10pm to 12am and look northwards.
Mr Nolan also said no special equipment is needed to view the showers.
Experts suggest it is better to try to spot meteors when the moon is below the horizon or when it is in its crescent phase, because otherwise it acts as natural light pollution and will prevent the fainter meteors from being visible.
