It was a successful weekend for Donegal Community games competitors at the regional final held in Sligo. Eighteen winners from this weekend’s event will go on to compete in the National finals which are scheduled to be held next weekend in Carlow.
Orlagh Faul, from Glenswilly, made her father and manager Brian Faul proud by qualifying for the u16 200m. Niamh Doohan from the Rosses secured the first position in u14 hurdles.
Ben Mc Gee from Cranford got the third position in the u12 600m.
Chloe McFadden from Gweedore qualified for the national finals next weekend in the u12 girls 200m.
Deava Diver from Ramelton secured the third position in u10 100m girls, which means she too will be competing in the national finals next weekend.
Cormac Mc Bride from Fanad secured the first position in u8 60m.
Co-chairperson Manus O’Donnell and Co-president Sean Mc Ginley said that the Donegal participants had represented their county well and they were proud of them.
It was a great weekend for Donegal, with 18 athletes qualifying for the national finals next weekend in Carlow.
