Breac House, a boutique B&B outside Dunfanaghy, and ‘Plug-In Cottage’ in Ramelton will be visited in upcoming episodes.

Episode 3 sees present Síle Nic Chonaonaigh travelling to Horn Head to meet local architect Tarla MacGabhann, the designer of Breac House (pictured above).

Breac House was designed by local, award-winning MacGabhann Architects. Brothers Tarla and Antoin MacGabhann and their talented team created an innovative and exciting design, which is both contemporary and traditional in its use of materials and how the building sits within the unique landscape of Horn Head.

The retreat was opened by Cathrine and Niall in 2017 to celebrate all things Donegal, quality Irish design, real food, local heritage and the opportunity to explore the amazing beaches and mountains.

Episode four of Tithe Cois Uisce meets with those who have decided to build hideaways in secluded areas. Antóin MacGabhann is a civil engineer and has built ‘Plug-In Cottage’ on the banks of a river estuary in north east Donegal. The existing cottage was at the heart of this project, which sought to preserve the original form and extend the accommodation for the family.
