The end is in sight for long-suffering residents in the Manorcunningham area after confirmation that work is to start shortly on a new water main there.

Councillor Donal ‘Mandy’ Kelly has been informed by Uisce Éireann that works will start in the Raymoghy, Rossbracken and Manor areas at the end of the month.

The road closure times and the replacement of new mains water infrastructure works will commence on the 29th of January.

“I’m delighted for the residents in these areas that this long ongoing issue is now going to be resolved once and for all,” Cllr Kelly said.

“I want to thank you all for your patience and for your support. You all deserve this fantastic news.”

The Errity’s Brea, locally known as Boyles Brea, is also added to the project.

“The works will commence at Errity’s Brea down to McElhinneys shop right down to the N14 and then cross the N14 right over Rossbracken to near Cassidys quarries.,” Cllr Kelly added.
