The pupils of Glenmaquin NS have celebrated the completion of their Creative Clusters drama project in conjunction with Sorcha and Gemma from Makey Uppers.
The children enjoyed 6 weeks of improvised drama lessons with Sorcha and Gemma.
The theme of the project was Irish Myths and Legends. The pupils from the Junior Room picked the story of ‘The Children of Lir’ and pupils from the Senior Room chose the story of ‘Granuaile’.
Parents were invited to the school to watch a performance of the children’s version of ‘The Children of Lir’ and ‘Gráinne Mhaol- Pirate Queen’. The school was also delighted to welcome parents of the newly arrived Ukrainian pupils.
There was an added celebration on the day, when the school received its latest Active School Flag. A great day was had by all. The school issued a huge ‘thank you’ to Sorcha and Gemma from Makey Uppers, and to all those who came along to support the children. Míle Buíochas.
