A woman who “put hospital staff in fear” as she was being treated has been ordered to pay €200.
Patricia Gallagher, 55, appeared at Letterkenny District Court after being charged under the Public Order Act following an incident at Letterkenny University Hospital.
Garda Sergeant Jim Collins told the court that Ms Gallagher was being treated at the hospital on April 24th last.
She was awaiting treatment and began causing a disturbance and put staff in fear, he said.
Gardai approached her but she refused to comply and was arrested.
The court was told she has one previous conviction for assault going back to 2016.
Her solicitor, Mr Patsy Gallagher, said his client has a severe health difficulty and has since apologised for her actions.
Judge Ciaran Liddy fined Ms Gallagher, of St Eunans Court, Letterkenny, €200 and gave her three months to pay.
