County councillor Micheal Cholm Mac Giolla Easbuig is seeking to have a cliff rescue service in Bunbeg reinstated.
He said that with an increase in tourism, including sea stack and hill climbing, needs such a service.
He is now seeking a meeting with Minister for Transport Shane Ross as soon as possible.
He said the response times form other rescues services in the county would not be good enough and that local volunteers know the area “like the back of their hands.”
The Government withdrew a previous service claiming there was not enough use for it in the area.
