St. Eunan’s College 1 – 11 Patrician College, Carrickmacross 1 – 8
St. Eunan’s staged a great comeback from losing 1-6 to 0-2 at half time and in reality only for some great saves by Killian Gribben the St.Eunan’s goalkeeper the Carrickmacross team would have been out of sight.
In the first half the defence was under constant siege.
St. Eunan’s Jack Gallagher played well at centre half back as well as Oran Brogan, Oisin Mc Daid, Sean Collum and Colin Mc Dermott (Captain) who had an inspired performance.
However, in the second St. Eunan’s rallied and scored point after point to eventually lead by one point after great scores by Keelan Collier, Calum Friel “ man of the match performance” and Ben Gallagher who scored two vital scores after coming on as substitute.
Then a goal made by Shane Monaghan and finished with a low shot to the corner by Calum Friel with 4 minutes sealed the victory. Noel O’ Donnell was inspirational in midfield and time after time he set up attacks with Jack Alcorn who turned over the Monaghan boys in several occasions.
Emmet O’ Boyle, Matthew Whoriskey, Seimi Breslin were key men in attack and young Keelan Collier pierced through the defence on several occasions. This was a great team effort and now St. Eunan’s have topped their group and await the quarter Final draw.
