Ballybofey and Stranorlar Golf Club are Ulster champions after JB Carr win

Ballybofey and Stranorlar Golf Club’s JB Carr Team once again done their club proud by producing an inspiring performance in the return leg of the Ulster Final.

With just one match accredited  to them away to Rossmore, the heat was on for team captain Ivan Stewart.

“We’ll not just worry yet” is what he said before the return leg as though he had some kind of magic wand up his sleeves.

Match day came and the pairs were quietly told of their positioning and exactly what was expected of them. “Ye all need to win, as simple as that”  is what the softly spoken captain may have ushered.

A stunning display of golf from all pairs including the pair that kept the whole of the East Donegal Club sweating as they headed down the 19th to decide the final outcome and indeed it was the one that presented the choice prize of Ulster Champions.

So a big Congratulations to Ivan and team who now head of to the wee town of Avoca where the Wooden Bridge Club will host the finals for all of Ireland.

Speaking of Our Province, our All Ireland Mixed Foursomes continue on their quest to seek an Ulster Title on the 25th August in Massereene Golf Club against the winner of Rosapenna v Balmoral.

The boys and girls had, a fantastic win against Co Antrim golf club.

With one change made to the setup from the previous match, this could give captains Terry and Margaret an extra headache for the big game. Best of Luck to all involved.

Last weekend the B&S club hosted a very successful Lady Captains weekend. Mrs Josephine Stewart and her family and friends had a fantastic two day event which was won by Sharon Moloney.

We would like to wish every success this weekend to our President Mr Joe Blee who will be presenting the Presidents prize on Saturday night with music and dancing afterwards.

Everyone very welcome. Good luck the following Monday 20th to our Juniors who will do battle for the Junior Presidents prize.
