Matthew Dunne wins Bank Holiday Open at Letterkenny GC – full roundup here

Last, Monday, 6th August, Letterkenny Gold Club hosted a Bank Holiday Open in Aid of St. Luke’s Hospital. 

There was a big turnout for this worthy cause. Matthew Dunne (17.7) was the winner with 39 points (BOT) with Derek Wilson closely on his heels the runner up with 39 points.

Karol Farrell came in third place with 38 points and Darragh McMenamin (2.3) won Gross with 39 points.

McGinley’s Motors Open was held on Wednesday 8th Aug. Noel Gallagher (20.7) was the winner with a good score of 41 points.

Anthony McGrath (22.3) was runner up with 39 points and Shane Scanlon (5.2) won Gross with 38 points. Pluincead O’Fearraigh (21.9) came in third with 37 points.

On Saturday 11th the Gents Members Competition was won by Frankie McNulty (26.7) with 41 points, Jack McGarrigle (10.7) came in second with 39 points. and Derek Wilson (9.6) came in third with 38 points. Eunan McGarrigle (7.2) won Gross with 37 points.

On Sunday 12th Aug the Auto Fast Fit Tyre Centre Open was played.  There was a big turnout for this competition. Sean Mulroe (10.7) came in the winner with a good score of 41 points.

David McGowan (11.6) was second with 39 points (BOT) and David McCormick (5.1)  won Gross with 39 points. Eunan McGarrigle (7.0) won third place with 38 points.

Results of Golfer of the Year Points, i.e. week up to 6th of August – Aidan O’Neill 88 points, Josef Daden 56 points, Cathal Sheridan 51 points, Garvin McGahey 50 points, Shaun McGlinchey 43 points, Ian Mahony 39 points, Chris Wuertz 35 points, Sean Gilroy 34 points, Brian Hegarty 33 points, Columba Crawford 32 points. Aidan O’Neill is looking good to take Cat 4 Golfer of the Year Title.
