June 18, 2021

A MAN has been barred from a Letterkenny hotel for nine months by a judge,

At Letterkenny District Court this week, Judge Alan Mitchell issued an exclusion order against Sean Sherlock, barring him from entering the Mount Errigal Hotel for the next nine months.

It follows an incident on December 18, 2020, wen Gardai were called to a report of an intoxicated male at the hotel at 10.45pm.

Sergeant Gerard Dalton said that Sherlock, who was located in the front foyer of the hotel, was ‘unable to stand unaided and his speech was slurred’.

Sherlock (31), with an address at Fortwell Court, Letterkenny and now residing in County Meath, was arrested and conveyed to Letterkenny Garda Station. He was charged user section 4 of the public order act.

Judge Mitchell was told that Sherlock had ‘numerous’ previous convictions.

Judge Mitchell fined Sherlock €200, giving him three months to pay, and imposed the nine-month exclusion order.
