A select number of main roads across Donegal are to be gritted this evening as temperatures drop below freezing.
Donegal County Council has announced plans for gritting to begin from 6pm.
Gritting will focus on the 02 National Primary Central Route, Cill Ulta East, Binswilly and Donegal South.

Met Eireann is forecasting a cold night for the north west, with lows of -2C possible.
The Ulster forecast says: “Tonight will be cold and mainly dry with clear spells over the southern half of the region and with frost developing. It will be cloudier in the north with perhaps a little coastal drizzle. Lowest temperatures of -2 and +4 degrees, coldest in the south. Mist and fog patches will form in light breezes.”
