Donegal has the lowest rate of burglaries in the country, new figures have revealed.
The Irish Independent reports that 80 burglary offences were recorded in Donegal in the first three months of the year.
Quick access to Dublin has been linked to higher rates elsewhere. Counties well-serviced by motorways to the capital, such as Limerick, Westmeath and Louth, all have higher rates. Dublin had the highest rate of break-ins in the year to March, at 285 per 100,000 people.
The three counties with the lowest rates are Donegal, Mayo and Kerry.
