A man has been arrested after a woman was attacked in Ballyshannon in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The woman, who is in her 20s, was rushed to Sligo University Hospital for treatment following the incident.
However, her injuries are not understood to be life threatening.
The attack took place at a house in the town around 1am on Wednesday morning.
Gardai have confirmed that a man in his 30s was arrested and charged and was due to appear before Sligo District Court this morning.
