Planning permission has been granted for 23 new ‘permanent homes’ in Dunfanaghy.

Donegal County Council gave CR Renaissance Properties Ltd the go-ahead, with conditions, to develop the new houses at Horn Head Road.

One of the conditions laid down by planners is the houses ‘shall be’ used as permanent houses only and shall not be used for the purposes of holiday homes. The seaside town has been saturated with holiday homes in recent decades.

“Such holiday home use to be commenced only if authorised by a separate grant of permission,” planners added.

The proposed development will also include connection to public sewer and all associated ancillary site development works.
