Donegal County Council is seeking submissions as part of plans to develop new artwork along Buncrana’s shore walk.
The works along Fr Hegarty Shore Walk include plans to include a piece of art celebrating Fr Hegarty, as well as various other improvements to the infrastructure along the path including adding signage and carrying out repairs.
These works are set to be carried out over the upcoming months.
The public artwork being commissioned by Donegal County Council and Buncrana Tidy Towns will look to tell the story of the life of Friar Seamus Hegarty, the Dominican Friar whom the walk is named after.
Interested artists may request a copy of the commission brief by emailing Donegal County Council at friarhegartypublicart@donegalcoco.ie.
The closing date for the receipt of stage one submissions to Donegal County Council is 4pm on Monday, April 29th. A shortlist of up to five artists may be invited by the selection panel to submit detailed proposals to stage two of the process, after which one artist will be offered the commission.
