May 2, 2024

A Convoy man has pleaded guilty to careless driving causing serious bodily harm to a person in a car crash in Ballybofey.

Michael Slevin appeared at Letterkenny Circuit Court, where he was formally arraigned before Judge John Aylmer.

Slevin, a 28-year-old of Corradooey, Convoy was charged in connection with the collision on October 26, 2022.

Slevin spoke only to plead guilty to the careless driving causing serious bodily harm.

Barrister for Slevin, Mr Peter Nolan BL, said his client has ‘an entirely unblemished history’ and this has been his first time before the court.

Mr Nolan suggested that a probation and welfare report would be ‘very helpful’ in the case.

Judge John Aylmer requested the report, to include Slevin’s suitability for community service. The matter was adjourned to the October sitting of the court.
