Temperatures set to soar to 24C this weekend

After what looks like being a wash-out of a week, this weekend looks set to be a return to some real Summer weather.

While there will be some sunny breaks tomorrow, it’s set to be a windy day with blustery showers and highest temperatures of 16-20C.

There will be more showers on Thursday, which may become thundery, but that will hopefully be the last rain we see for a few days.

After early drizzle on Friday morning, Met Eireann has said that it will be generally dry with sunny spells and temperatures reaching 19C.

Saturday is set to be the best day of the week, with rain hopefully holding off for a very warm, dry day with temperatures climbing to to highs of 24C.

It will be sunniest in the east and south of the country, while us up here in the north-west can expect some cloudy periods.

Met Eireann has said it will also be humid on Saturday, but that Sunday will be a fresher day with moderate westerly breezes.

The warm weather will continue, closing out the weekend with temperatures of 16-20C.
