Donegal rower bids to reach Olympic Final this afternoon

RIO OLYMPICS: Donegal rower Sinead Jennings is aiming to reach an Olympic Final – when she takes to the water in Rio later this afternoon.

Jennings, who is from Hawthorn Heights, Letterkenny, now resides in Limerick.

She is married to double world champion and Olympian Sam Lynch.

Jennings (39) is a busy woman, she is a qualified doctor and a mother of three daughters as well as an Olympian.

She delivered a superb display in her last outing along with her partner Claire Lambe to secure their semi-final place.

They performed brilliantly in the heats and finished second behind the South African team on a time of 7.10.01.

Hopefully, she can reproduce that form later this afternoon and book her place in the final.
