Patrick Rafferty hat-trick keeps Drumoghill FC in Premier Division title chase

A PATRICK RAFFERTY hat-trick kept Drumoghill FC to victory against Convoy Arsenal in the Brian McCormick Sports Premier Division this afternoon.

Drumoghill FC 3-0 Convoy Arsenal

The defending league champions opened the scoring on 16 minutes when Rafferty got in behind the defence and lifted the ball over Chris O’Donnell in the Convoy goal.

He added his second on 40 minutes when Convoy failed to clear a corner kick.

Drumoghill dominated the second half and were rewarded with a third goal from Rafferty, when he rifled home from 12 yards in the closing stages.

Michael Lynch’s team have a game in hand against Kilmacrennan Celtic on Wednesday night.

Drumoghill FC: Michael Turner; Gerard McGranaghan, Ray Quinn, Tristian Ferris, Christopher O’Donnell; Jay Dee Alweji, Chris Malseed, Terence Shiels; Patrick Rafferty, Liam O’Donnell.

Convoy Arsenal: Chris O’Donnell; Emmet McNulty, Shane McLaughlin, Chris Lynch, Jason Elliott; Darren Harvey, James Kee, Gary Brolly, Fergus Carson; Anthony Bogle, Lee Guthrie.
