ONCE again it was very close at the top with the top five separated only by one point at Letterkenny Golf Club on February 5. 

First  place by BOT went to the ever green Mark Carrigy (20) in a round that had a birdie on the second hole.

Second place also with a terrific 39 points was Gary Loveridge in a round that included 8 pars & a birdie on the 15th.

Gross on the day went to Shaun Duffy (7) who shot a terrific five over par in a round that had 11 pars and a birdie on the fifth.

With the top six players only separated by two points on February 2nd, it was the very consistent Philip Friel (9) who won the day and best gross with 39 points that included 10 pars with birdies on the 8th and 11th.

Beaten into second place only on BOT was Seamus Hopkins with an excellent round that included 6 pars & birdies on the 2nd, 7th, 10th and 13th.

Winner of the January 25 Saturday Open, with a score of 41 points, was Tommy Dempsey (14) with 5 pars and birdies on the 3rd, 8th and 18th.

Second place was Philip Gillespie (21) with 40 points. He scored four pars and a birdie on the 11th.

Third place was Anthony McGrath (23), 39 points (BOT), with seven pars.

Gross winner of the day was Eamonn McGlinchey (6) with a terrific three over par round that consisted of 14 pars and a birdie on the 16th.

In form Paddy O’Kane (10) came out on top in the Sunday Members Competition on January 26 with a score of 39 points including 7 pars and a level par back 9 that included birdies on the 10th,15th & 16th.

Second place on the day & only beaten on BOT was Clifford Malone (7) with a terrific 4 over par that included 11 pars and birdies on the 11th and 16th.

Gross on the day was another in form golfer Don Ponsonby (5) also shooting 4 over par that included 10 pars and birdies on the 2nd & 7th.

Returning member Gerard McGee (14) won the Saturday Members Competition on February 1 with a terrific 41 points that consisted of 10 pars.

Second place on the day went to Nicholas Kenny (11) with 38 points(BOT) that included 8 pars and a birdie on the 3rd.
