Margo Bermingham takes ladies prize at Letterkenny Golf Club Captain’s Week

The excitement of Lady Captain’s Day behind us next up it was Mr. Captain Ed Margey’s prize to the Letterkenny Golf Club ladies on Tuesday 11th August. 

Over 50 ladies competed in another day of beautiful sunshine in Barnhill. The winner on this occasion was Margo Birmingham carding a very impressive 40 points – a score not easy come by but Margo held her focus playing lovely steady golf to claim her second big prize in as many weeks and her third career ‘Major’ having previously won Lady Captain’s and Mr.President’s prize back in 2009.

The students prize was claimed by Mary Beth McBrearty returning an outstanding 39 points. playing off 12.

Many thanks to Mr. Captain Ed. for the beautiful prizes and continued success to him for the remainder of the year.

Winner: Margo Birmingham 40pts.

Runner-Up: Pauline Curley 34pts.

Gross: Ann Cannon 23 gross pts.

3rd: Celine Bradley 32pts

Front 9: Katrina Rainey 21pts. Back 9: Elaine Russell 17pts.

Student Prize: Mary Beth McBrearty 39pts.

Upcoming Fixtures

Don’t forget ladies the Peggy Forde Open has been changed to Tuesday 25th with the presentation by the Forde family on Thursday 27th August. The AIB Open and the Little Angels competitions will also be presented on Thursday 27th.

The next ‘major’ is Mr. President Dermot Condon’s prize to the ladies which will take place on Tuesday 1st September. The draw sheet for this and the President’s Mixed Foursomes is up in the locker room so ensure your name is included in the draw which will be done on Thursday 27th.

The competition on Thursday 3rd September will be sponsored by Charlie Davis’ Farm shop.
