Martin McGrath wins again at Buncrana Golf Club

THE competition last weekend at Buncrana Golf Club was the Sean McLaughlin Memorial Open Stableford. 

There was a tremendous turnout for this competition which is sponsored by the Excelsior Bar Buncrana.

Martin McGrath took first place with 44 points on a break of a tie from Eoin McNamee. Martin shot an average front 9 with 19 points but turned on the style over the back 9 to shoot a very impressive 25 points to amass his winning total of 44 points.

The gross went to the big hitting Luke Bradley (1) who is playing some magnificent golf at present as he shot a very impressive 3 under gross for a 63 gross.  The full results of the Sean McLaughlin Memorial Open Stableford are as follows; 1st – Martin McGrath (20) 44 points b.o.t., 2nd – Eoin Mc Namee (19) 44 points, Gross Luke Bradley (1) 63 gross, 3rd – Tony Hegarty (5) 42 points, Best Day (Sat) Ciaran Mc Ateer (11) 41 points, Visitor Jack O’ Brien (10) 41 points and Back 9 Liam O’ Donnell (9) 22 points b.o.t. CSS 65/37 points

Up Coming Competitions: Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September – The Drift Inn Bar & Restaurant Open Teams of 4 Bramble. There is a timesheet in operation so book early to avoid any disappointment – contact details are 0749362279.

Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October – The Owen Mc Daid (Roe) Taxi & Mini-Bus Hire Winter League. The Owen Mc Daid (Roe) Taxi & Mini-Bus Hire Winter League will commence weekend 3 and 4 October 2020.

Names are now being taking and the cost to enter is €30.00 per player which covers the 6 weeks of qualifying and the match play knockout stages.
