Wins for David McCormick and Ray Devenney at Letterkenny Golf Club

DAVID McCormick, a three-handicapper, won the Tennants Members Competition at Letterkenny Golf Club on September 30.

On a day of very high scoring at Barnhill, the winner and best gross was McCormick with a terrific 3 under par 69.

In a front nine that included birdies on first, second & sixth, with a rare bogey on the third. The back nine started with a bogey on the 10th, but David hit back with birdies on the 12th and 18th to complete a stunning round of 43 points.

Second place went to the evergreen MP O’Donnell (12) with a super 42 points including 8 pars and a birdie on the seventh.

Third place went to Marty McMullan (17) with 41 points (BOT)  with five pars and birdies on seventh and 16th.

Fourth place went to Mark Blaney (15) also with 41 points including 8 pars & a birdie on the third.

The of the Manor Motors Competition on Saturday, October 3 with a stunning 46 points was the big hitting Ray Devenney (12). With birdies on the second, fifth and sixth saw Ray complete the front nine in one under par. Three pars on the back nine along with six bogeys saw him safety secure first place.

Second place went to Sean McBride (14) with a terrific 43 points (BOT) including 9 pars & a birdie on the last hole.

Gross prize went to Major winner Jamie Foley (3) with a level par round 72 including 12 pars & birdies on the fourth, seventh and 15th.

Third place went to Seamus Kelly (21) also with 43 points with the highlight a birdie on the 13th.

Fourth place went to Declan Burke (14)  with 41 points including 12 pars.
