Donegal pharmacies will be among 1,000 in the community to begin giving the Covid-19 vaccinations this week.
Pharmacists will begin receiving deliveries of the Janssen single-dose vaccine from today to those in the 50 and over age bracket.
Initially, 60,000 doses of the Janssen vaccine will be distributed to participating pharmacies across the country.
Those seeking a vaccine in their local pharmacy will need to seek an appointment with their local outlet.
Vaccinations will take place in a separate consultation room within a pharmacy.
People will have to wait for 15 minutes after receiving their jab so that they can be monitored for any side effects.
