Daniel O’Donnell has once again pleaded with fans not to engage with scammers pretending to be him on Facebook.
His latest plea comes after it appears that fans handed over money for ‘meets and greets’ and other requests from hoaxers pretending to be the Donegal singing sensation.
Labelling those behind the cons as “bad people”, Daniel once again took to his own Facebook page to plead with fans not to get involved with people claiming to be him.
Daniel said “There are people out there who are trying to scam people on Facebook and get money out of them but please don’t engage with anybody who says that they’re me messaging you.
“It won’t be me. It’s just some bad person that’s trying to take advantage of other people.”
There are now several fake pages including chat pages claiming to be the star.
Daniel is worried that his huge fan following, many of them who are elderly, will part with their money thinking they are giving it to him.
The star outlined again that he will NEVER engage with fans online.
He added “I want to say one more time and I hope that you all take heed.
“I will never message anybody privately on Facebook. “I will not ask you to message me privately. I will not ask you to send me money.
“So please once again do not engage with anybody on Facebook who says they are me.”
