Convoy man to stand trial after serious crash

A book of evidence has been served on a man charged with careless driving causing serious bodily harm in a Ballybofey car crash.

Michael Slevin will go before Letterkenny Circuit Court in connection with the collision at Chestnut Road, Ballybofey, on October 26, 2022.

The 28-year-old, of Corradoey, Convoy, appeared at Letterkenny District Court for the service of the book.

Garda Campbell gave evidence of serving the book of evidence on Slevin at 11.39am on Monday at Letterkenny courthouse.

Slevin faces one charge, that of careless driving causing serious bodily harm.

Sergeant Gerard Dalton told the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has consented for the accused to be forwarded to the next sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court, which commences on April 23.

Judge Eiteain Cunningham made an order returning Slevin for trial. A section 56 order was made in relation to videos of interviews and the alibi warning was administered.
