Letterkenny Gardaí arrested a driver on suspicion of drug driving at one of their MIT (mandatory intoxicant testing) checkpoints yesterday after they tested positive for cocaine.
The Roads Policing Gardaí in Letterkenny then arrested another driver on suspicion of drink driving last night. The driver was charged to appear in Court on a later date.
“This Bank Holiday Weekend and always, please drive safely and make wise decisions when it comes to road safety,” a garda spokesperson said.
“Making a decision to drive whilst under the influence of alcohol/drugs can have devastating consequences. Excess speed can and does kill so please slow down! Wear your seatbelt and ensure others in your vehicle are wearing theirs also. Never use/hold a mobile phone while driving.”
