Otway Golf – Conditions and pin positions mean ‘unremarkable’ winning score

Conditions and pin positions were a bit trickier at the Sunday Open Turkey Scramble last week, when an unremarkable score of 5-under par was the winning score.

The team of Brendan Gallagher, Peter Friel and William Roarty managed to outscore the rest of the field by one shot and claim a bird each.

Open scramble on again this Sunday at Otway, names in to the clubhouse by 12.45 for a 1pm tee off, tell 074-9158319.

On Saturday it was the big final of the matchplay between Ollie O’Dowd and Peter Friel. Peter’s run of form (or luck?) came to an end when he came up against an in-form (or lucky?) Ollie to prove the old saying about golf, that it’s all on the day!

Well done to Ollie on his victory – and hard to luck Pete!

Another weekly chance to win a turkey at Otway is the weekly 25 card drive every Wednesday at 7pm, starting this Wednesday in the clubhouse.
