Ballybofey & Stranorlar Golf Club’s early birds had their Captain’s outing in Dunfanaghy Golf Club on Sunday.

After a few cancellations due to the elements, they got a fantastic day in the seaside town although the strong winds, made sure their golf skills would be tested to the full.

It was Convoy’s Seán Carlin who came out on top although early indications looked so much different for him having scratched two out of the first five holes.

Seán went on to show eleven pars on the card which was enough to secure the Captains prize.

Early birds Captain Cathal Patton was delighted at the turnout on the day and thanked his fellow members,  guests and B&S Club Captain Bernard Foy for making the trip.

Early Bird Results

1st Seán Carlin, 2nd Cathal Patton, 3rd Patsy Fullerton, 4th Danny Connaghan., Best 9s Eamonn Foy & Michael Scanlon.

A beautiful handcrafted pen and box presented and made by Seamus Cannon was won by Danny Conaghan

Ryder Cup

This weekend sees our annual Ryder Cup between Ballybofey & Stranorlar v Convoy & Raphoe.

Two round of golf on Saturday (Betterball & foursomes) and Singles on Sunday.

This promises to produce exciting and thrilling golf and at times it will be tense, hopefully with loads of banter along the way. This year’s chosen charity will be St Joseph’s.
