Ciaran Gilcrest wins Wednesday Open at Letterkenny Golf Club

There was a good turnout of players for the Wednesday Open on November 15 at Letterkenny Golf Club. 

Ciaran Gilcrest (4) won the competition with 40 points. He played some brilliant golf getting 12 pars, 3 birdies and 3 bogies. Well done Ciaran.

 Members of Letterkenny Sports & Social Club with Organisers of BUMBLEance Open Golf Competition at the presentation of proceeds to Jack Beatty, Raphoe with Driver of Bumblette Aidan Thompson.

Paul Doherty (17) came in second with 37 points and Kevin Kiely 3rd with 36 points. Gerry Daly (22) took in a very respectable 35 points (bot).

At the Saturday Open on November 18, Laurence Duggan (23) won with 41 points and getting 7 pars, an excellent score. Laurence is playing good golf and will be a contender next year in Club Matches.

Tommy Dempsey came in second with 40 points and Kevin Kiely (8) who is never very far away, came in 3rd with 38 points.

Pat McGarrigle (22) had a respectable score of 36 points for 4th place.

On Sunday, November 19, the Members Competition was held, there was a big turnout and good scores were posted. Nicholas R. Kenny (10) won the competition with a brilliant score of 44 points, having got an eagle on the 11th (par 5), 1 birdie on the 18th and 10 pars.

Paul Doherty came in second place with a very good 42 points and Eamonn McGlinchey came in third place with 39 points (bot).

Ciaran Gilcrest came in 4th place with 39 points and also won gross.

Cards will be played as usual on Wednesday Night starting at 8pm sharp.
