It’s all go at Letterkenny Golf Club – here’s all the latest from Barnhill

There have been large attendances to Letterkenny Golf Course recently mainly due to the great condition of the course as well as the excellent weather we are having. 

Visitors were also getting to know the course for Open Week which started on Friday 8th. However The Sheridan Security Open was held on Wednesday 6th June. Sam Hegarty (15.0) who has been showing very good form this year won with an excellent score of 41 points.

He got 7 pars out of the course. Tom McDonagh (17.5) was a close 2nd with 40 points and Colin Morrow (22.2) 3rd place with 39 points.

The Open Week started off on Friday 8th with Specsavers being the Sponsors.

Matt Marren (26.2) had a great game coming in with a winning score of 40 points (bot) pushing Ciaran Gilcreest (3.1) into 2nd place.  Kieran Sweeney took Gross with 39 points and Tony Duffy 3rd place with 38 points.

The Derryveagh Crystal 4BBB was played on Saturday 9th. D.Walsh / C.Walsh were the winners with a score of 46,  S.Henry / C.Morrow came in 2nd place with 45 and J. McGarrigle / C. Moore got 3rd place with 43.

Gross went  to D.McCormich / C. Gilcreest with a score of 42.

The CoLab LYIT Business Centre Open was played on Sunday. John Paul Clarke (8.1) was the winner with a score 75 – 9 = 66 (bot).

Second place went to Tony Blake (15.7) with 83 – 17 = 66 and 3rd place went to George Onofrei with a score of 78 – 11 = 67 (bot).  The Lowest Gross went  to Cian Harkin.

The Hickey, Clarke & Langan Open was played on Monday 11th. Tony Logue (16.3) had a great winning score of 41 points (bot) having got 8 pars in his journey around the course. Cian Harkin got 2nd place with 41 points while Gerard Duffy came in 3rd with 38 points.

There have been large attendances to Letterkenny for this years Open Week. Upcoming events for the Weekend are on Friday is the Brian McCormick Sports Open, Saturday the 4 Lanterns 4BBB and on Sunday The Global Tiles and Bathroom Open.
