Bundoran’s Magh Ene Historical Society are looking for your help to find information relating to a Bundoran badge that was recently sent to them.
The badge was found in Selby, Yorkshire by a gentleman with a metal detector before he got in touch with Discover Bundoran via Facebook to see if anyone had any information about it.
After several unsuccessful appeals, the Historical Society is now appealing to the wider public for information on its origins.
The metal badge measures less than 2cm by 2cm and depicts a sailing boat and the word Bundoran.
Valentine O’Kelly, Chair of Magh Ene Historical Society, is appealing for anyone that can provide information on the badge to get in touch.
She said: “We are extremely grateful to the gentleman for making contact with us and for his generous donation to the Bundoran museum which is located at Bundoran Community Centre.
“It’s an unusual item and we are keen to find out more about it, what it was used for and indeed what era it might be from.”
If you can provide information on the badge, then you can get in touch via email maghenehistorical@gmail.com or by popping into the Community Centre.
The badge will be on display in the Bundoran Museum and any information received, as to its origin, will be posted next to it.
