Shaun Duffy wins latest Wednesday Open – all the latest from Letterkenny Golf Club

The Wednesday Open was played on October with a big turnout on the day.  

Shaun Duffy (8.2) had a good winning score of 38 points.  Shaun got two birdies – on the 4th and the 11th – along with 8 pars.

He pushed Allister Borland (19.3) into second place.  Allister scoring 37 points (bot). Allister is back in form again, he has a tremendous drive of the ball and is now hitting fairways more frequently. 

Hugh Gallagher (11.9) took third place with 37 points. (bot) and Martin Gallagher (6.8) took Gross with 37 points.

The Minor League Team played the first leg of the Final away against Portsalon.  

The weather conditions on the day were extremely wet Portsalon certainly had home advantage.  Letterkenny lost 5/0 on the day however all is not yet lost. 

The home game has yet to to be played, Letterkenny are still capable of pulling it off.  Three in a row is not yet off the cards.

Prize Winners Farren Roarty Open on 25/09/19 L/R Jamie Foley, Darragh McMenamin, Captain John Bowe, Colin Murrow winner with 42 pts, and Cathal Roarty of Farren/Roart).

A Club Open was played on Saturday October 5. PJ Nee (11.1) won the competition with 36 points. (bot). PJ had two birdies – on the 3rd and the 15th – with 7 pars making up the winning score. Runner up was George Onofrei (9.5) being beaten on the break of tie. Shay Henry (12.6) was third with 35 points.

The Golf Course is bearing up extremely well under recent difficult weather conditions, the drainage systems and lakes are operating optimally leaving the course in good playing condition on the following days.

Prize Winners Sunday Open on 29/09/19 – L/R Jamie Foley, Captain John Bowe, Philip Friel winner with 39 pts & Shaun Duffy.

Kieran Sweeney (5.7) won the Sunday Members Open on Sunday with a score of 39 points. Kieran took three birdies from the course, on the 10th, the 11th and the 13th.  He also had 10 pars.  Kieran also won Lowest Gross.  

Runner up was George Onofrei (8.9) with 37 points (bot) and Liam Sweeney (8.9) took third place.
