CLOUGHANEELY Golf Club welcomed 92 Ladies last Monday 20th July with the Donegal Ladies Seniors Golf and they all enjoyed the lovely weather.
The club received great reports on the condition of the golf course.
Cloughnaeely Golf Club would like to give a special thanks to Club Members Kenny Macpherson, Patsy McVicar, Joe Gallagher, Paul Harkin, Sean Ó Gallchóir and Chris McCallion for all their help and to Philip McGeady, John Murphy and Bernard Coyle for their excellent work on the golf course.
The club would like to thank Margret Hynes and the Donegal Ladies Seniors group for their kind comments about the golf course and the hospitality they received.
Paul McGarrigle was the winner of the weekend’s competition at Cloughaneely Golf Club. McGarrigle shot a fantastic score of 43 points.
Weekend Results 19th July: 1st – Paul McGarrigle (22) 43pts; 2nd – Hugo Cannon (11) 39pts; CAT 1 – Gerry Doohan (11) 37pts; CAT 2 – Owenie Pro (15) 37pts; CAT 3 – John Murphy (27) 36pts.
There was a good turnout for Friday 17th July 9 Hole Competition: Cat 1 – Joe Friel Jnr (11) 21pts BOT; Cat 2 – Mick Nolan (15) 25pts; Cat 3 – Tony Doohan (24) 14pts.
Last Man Standing update: With four of the six game weeks played the top 10 is as follows: 31 points Rosie McDermott; 29 points Oisin Crumlish, Stephen Gealis, Michael Gallagher & Erin Vaughan; 28 points Austin McDermott, Gerard McDermott, Owen McFadden ESB & Denis Sale & 27 points Ciaran Cannon.
Cloughaneely Golf Club’s Donegal League team had a super win over Cruit Island last Thursday in very wet, windy and tough conditions.
They progress now to meet local neighbours Dunfanaghy Golf Club and this match is scheduled for this Friday at 5pm. Cloughaneely GC sent best of luck to Hugo Cannon and his team.
Cloughaneely Golf Club’s Junior Scratch Cup Team defeated Portsalon Golf Club last Saturday winning all four home matches and they meet Buncrana Golf next.
In July, Cloughaneely Golf Club has a 9 Hole Competition every Tuesday and Friday with re-entry allowed for both Members and Visitors. The club runs an 18 Hole Singles Stableford Competition open to Ladies and Gents to anyone with a GUI or ILGU card every weekend in July 2020.
Entry for Visitors is €15pp at weekends with good timesheet availability and most all – great greens to enjoy.
