Beginners golf a success as competitions continue at Cloughaneely

BEGINNER golf lessons for ladies and gents have started very well at Clouganeely Golf Club.

There were 16 ladies out last Saturday and 21 ladies on Monday evening.

Joe Friel Physical Therapist was the sponsor of last weekend’s club competition.

Weekend results

Single Stableford 29th/30th May 1st: Cian McGarvey (5) 40pts; 2nd: Sean MacIntyre (12) 37pts; 3rd: Fergal Kilfeather (15) 36pts

Forsesomes Stroke 30th May; 1st: Philip McGeady &Martin Terry 67; 2nd: Manus McClafferty & Owenie Pro 67.5.

Tuesday 9 Hole 1st June;  CAT 1: Brian Geaney (10) 21pts. CAT 2: Conor Ó’Gallachóir (14) 23pts. CAT 3: Thomas McClafferty (22) 22pts.

Reminder that 9 Hole competitions continue every Tuesday and Friday for the rest of the summer.

On Saturday, the 2021 Captain’s Drive-In 9 Hole Scramble is on – please book with Mark on 086 8807611 by Thursday evening. Open to club members only.

This weekend’s singles stableford on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday play on either day is kindly sponsored by McClafferty’s Eurospar Gortahork.

New members are welcome for 2021 offering excellent value for beginner ladies, gents, students, juniors, juveniles and distance members.
