The latest results and fixtures from Buncrana Golf Club:

Winter League Week 3: The format last weekend in the Owen Mc Daid (Roe) Taxi & Mini-Bus Hire Winter League was the player’s total aggregate. This format gave the pairings a great opportunity to put some valuable points on the qualifying table, however only 11 of the 35 pairings managed to get better than 70 pts. Obviously this format put a lot of pressure on the individual performances of the pairings and the weather conditions on Saturday morning didn’t help the Saturday player’s. However the stalwart pairing of  Paul Eccles (18) & Kevin Mc Dermott (22) payed some tremendous golf on Sunday morning to shoot a fantastic 83 pts. Not alone did this score easily secure the weekly prize but it also moved Paul & Kevin into top scorers overall and into a very strong position to reach the match play stages of the competition.

Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th November the Owen Mc Daid (Roe) Taxi & Mini-Bus Hire Winter League: The format this weekend is a 2 ball scramble and with only one week of qualifying remaining after this weekend a lot of players will be trying hard to move into the coveted qualifying positions.

Hamper Qualifying

The qualifying for the Christmas Hamper has started with 0-7 handicaps needing 20 pts and 8+ handicaps needing 21 pts over the 9 holes to qualify.

9 Hole Competitions

A new 9 hole competition format has commenced with 3 different handicap sections 0-11, 12-19 and 20 +. There will be a separate prize for each category and when 20 returns are made in a category this competition will close and a new one started. The entry fee is €3.00 and re-entry is also €3.00. In order for this format to operate successfully it will be imperative that players do not disclose their scores and any scores disclosed before the competition closes will definitely result in that player and their score being disqualified.

Membership

There are only a few places left for the new membership deal and the details are as follows; Male €440.00, Lady €282.00, Youth (18-23) €225.00, Complete Beginner Male €290.00 and Lady €220.00. This membership will start from now 2021 and run until March 1st 2023 and there is no hidden charge with all Golf Ireland and Insurance Fees included.
