Teenager Ultan is top on the tees at Portsalon

TEENAGER Ultan Blaney won this year’s Members Sub competition at Portsalon Golf Club Sunday with a fine score of 41 points.

That score was enough to hold off in-form Michael Molloy by a single shot. T

he Gross prize on the day went to Sean Hensey in what ideal golfing conditions on one of the warmest Donegal days of the year so far.

Club Matchplay 

Everyone will be glad to have seen the back of 2020 but there’s still one piece of last year’s news to be finished off – the Portsalon Club Singles Matchplay. We are one step away from a winner now after both semi-finals were played on Monday.

Former Captain and President Andy Boland saw off Kyle Burke in a close affair and he’ll face two-time winner Donal Callaghan Jr in the decided, the Kerrykeel man having got the better of Kevin Hensey in another tense battle. Best of luck to both players in the decider.
