A well-known Donegal hotel has reached out to families in Donegal who have been left without power because of stormy weather.
Hundreds of families have been with water or electricity since Storm Isha battered the county on Monday.
And with the arrival of Storm Jocelyn later today, it could be Thursday before power returns to many areas.
Now the Shandon Hotel in Marblehill has reached out to those stranded families.
Hotel manager Carolynne Harrison has confirmed to Donegal Daily that she slashed rates for families who have lost electricity and internet connection since Sunday.
“Some families in north Donegal have been told they won’t be reconnected until Thursday,” said Carolynne.
“We had some spare capacity and offered rooms to a number of families on Monday.
“With another storm on the way, we expect demand to increase through the week.
“We’ve also had professionals seeking wifi and accommodation so they can work and that isn’t a problem. We have our own generator and fast high-speed broadband which is working well.”
Anyone wanting to take advantage of the offer needs to provide proof of address in order to access the special rate.
The hotel can be contacted on 0749136137.
